Urbaanite or Urban Digital, a series of digital media workshops, will be held on Nov. 4 at POP Nashville (link to address) from time to time. (I am confused what the event name is and who the sponsor is –there are a few different names in here – be sure to have the exact name of the event).
The workshops, sponsored by Google Fiber Nashville and Digital Inclusion, will feature topics like mobile applications, creating a logo and building a website to support entrepreneurs expand their businesses.
“We are very passionate and excited about Urban Digital, a business that helps to address this need, that gives people the tools, that teaches things like SEO strategy and how to leverage advertising and how to use these amazing tools in order to propel an individual or group’s business and get it to a successful place,” said Daynise Joseph, the Community Impact Manager for Google Fiber Nashville.
Urban Digital will feature two learning tracks for attendees to choose, Design + Build and Grow +_Sustain. Both tracks provide attendees with learning sessions, as well as a “Build It Lounge” to apply elements learned right at the workshop and network with other attendees.
Design + Build logos, websites and mobile applications that can help organize time and social media. Grow + Sustain focus on podcasting, making money with your data, and learning to use the Live functions of social media.
FORBES has ranked Nashville as #8 in job growth. Big corporations like HCA, Google Fiber Nashville, and offices here. The Nashville Entrepreneurship Center provides co-working space as well as mentors to new creatives.
“Google, through workshops like these, is coordinating 3 resources: getting people affordable connections, getting them devices and getting them the skills that they need in order to be successful with that connection,” Joseph said.
