Repticon has a new home in Nashville, TN

A place where snakes and iguanas can hang out around your neck and on your shoulder, Repticon at Nashville Fairgrounds March 4-5. Formerly hosted in Franklin, TN the convention moved to a bigger space in 2017. The Nashville Fairgrounds, located on 625 Smith Ave, hosted this year’s convention and is scheduled to host it again July 29-30, 2017.

Repticon, the reptile and exotic pet conference, tours the nation bring pet shows and seminars across the country. The conference is geared to kids and adults alike. Vendors allow onlookers to handle the animals as well as participate in the many shows and activities provided.

With over 100 vender tables, Repticon Nashville displayed plenty of snakes, iguanas and even a blue macaw was present. “My daughter has been staring at this bird quietly for over 5 minutes, that never happens,” Christy Jones of Hermitage shares.

Seminars on pet safety were given to the children and parents throughout the convention. Children were taught how to properly handle a pet snake, how to properly feed a snake, as well as how to properly close the snake’s enclosure.

Mr. Brendan “Reptile Guy,” brought snakes and two iguanas for kids to have a few photo opportunities with. The Reptile Guy’s pets were a hit among the kids. The staff there was knowledgeable about the animals and answered every last question each kid wished to ask about each animal.

Repticon Nashville’s March show gave each family member something to experience and possible some exotic pet tips. For the squeamish there were pigs and little turtles. For the brave, there were boa constrictors. Repticon will be back in Nashville on July 29th and 30th at the same location; Nashville Fairgrounds.
