LOL, SMH, and TTYL are some of the text lingo for today. Nashville small business entrepreneur, Kimberly Washington, aims to reverse some of this text speak and get people back to traditional writing with PaperKuts Studio. Why paper? “I’ve always loved paper. Paper runs the gamut. There is an invitation for any event. Who doesn’t love to receive a handwritten note in the mail from somebody,” Kimberly explains.

When did penmanship and cursive writing get removed from schools? Ohio representative Cheryl L. Grossman proposed House Bill 58 to reinstate instruction of cursive writing in schools. Kimberly’s product encourages writing, the art and physical act of it. Putting a pen and note from the heart in one’s hand emotes more and cannot be compared to a simple text of “Thank you.”
